To make an authentic and lasting series of family portrait images, we come to you in your home, private beach, or favorite garden or park, or we can meet at a public beach or scenic overlook.  Cape Cod is full of beautiful locations for a family portrait!

The Selection Process

After the portraits are taken we send watermarked digital proofs for selection.

Printed proof booklets can be purchased for $95.00

You will be able to order Gift Prints, Framed Wall Portraits, Canvas Wraps and our beautiful Italian made Coffee Table Albums. See images below.

Digital file purchases are available individually or a full set is priced according to total print purchases.

Allow 10 days for proof delivery.

Payment terms

Deposits are waived for the 2025 season in celebration of our 36 years in business!

The fee is due right after the portrait session, on location.

Need to Postpone?  I’ll offer another date as available when we postpone due to poor weather. Often times the following morning works well.

The Print Deposit portion of the sitting fee will be applied to your first printed photograph orders. (Note: Holiday cards do not qualify for payment by the print deposit built into the sitting fee.)

 Beach Portraits

The Cape Beaches are a popular portrait venue, and can be challenging for both photographer and family. Controlling the light, wind, insects and other natural elements to create a good portrait requires experience and proven techniques of the photographer, and cooperation and flexibility from the family. Often times gusty wind requires preparation so hair spray should be considered. The timing of a beach session is very important in order to capture images in soft light, so I remain flexible and ask that my subjects do as well. For this reason I try to only plan one beach portrait per summer evening, so everyone gets the very best light of the day! In wet weather, or when gusty winds exceed about 12 knots off the water, we may change venue or postpone our session. 

Oh, and bring the family dog! We understand that your canine friends are a part of your family and we want to include everyone! Just be sure to have a leash.

Portrait Sitting Packages

Basic Family Portrait- $490 

Family Groups up to 25 people

Includes:

•  many sub-groupings
• allow 10 days to receive proofs
• $200 Credit applied to Print orders (Holiday cards not eligible)

Reunion Group- $690

Groups up to 45 people.

Includes:

•  up to 10 sub-groupings posed and photographer
• allow 10 days to receive proofs
• $200 Credit applied to Print orders

Small family- $365

Up to 5 people.

Includes:

•  sub-groupings and individual portraits
• allow 10 days to receive proofs
• $100 Credit applied to print orders (Holiday cards not eligible)

Includes:

•  HR Digital Files delivered via Drop Box link  (retouching not included)

Large Group- $545

More than 50 people

Includes posing, lighting and 1 digitally enhanced image file in high resolution.

Print orders require payment when you place your order. Contact me for a final invoice with shipping.

 Portrait Enhancement:  Digital files purchased will have any refinements made to favorite images requested for printed photograph purchases.  Refinements are made to be appropriate for size of print ordered, and included in the product cost.

Digital Files

2025 Policy

Our digital image files are sold with a copyright release document allowing you to make your own prints anywhere, including a professional print lab. This means that the print and presentation quality is out of our control, and even more importantly, could end any further sales. So, digital files in the professional portrait industry have significant value, much like physical negatives did. It’s great to be able to share them now, as digital files can be easily retouched, duplicated and stored conveniently, unlike negatives. These are shared by Drop Box online. You should plan to move the image files to your own device or flash drive. They are kept in Drop Box (online) temporarily.

After the purchase of a qualifying print, (8×10 or larger) you may also purchase High Resolution files individually for just $45.  The file will include digital refinement work (aka, digital retouching) previously done for print orders, and a copyright release document for reproduction rights.

When you begin with the Basic $490 sitting fee, the initial cost of the full set of digital files comes down as you make print purchases. Based upon a sliding scale the cost of the set is determined after the all print orders are placed, (NOT including the print deposit built into the sitting fee).  Adult children in extended family groups often place their own order, so encourage members to do this promptly.

With our scale, the full set of HR digital files become free when all purchases reach $1,000, after satisfying the print deposit built into the sitting fee. These are delivered via a Drop Box link sent to your email addres .

Portrait Enhancement  (aka: Retouching and Digital Re-Imaging)

Digital re-imaging for image corrections and portrait retouching is a specialty of ours, and you will be amazed at what can be achieved!

After you receive your proofs we can discuss possibilities for face changes, removing people and objects from the background, body slimming, etc. Or, you can just allow me to make these decisions and approve a proof via email before ordering a wall portrait.
